Stacking TST and Edge Ez

I wanted to here from people that have stacked these two together. How is it done? Do you have to disconnect the EZ? If so do you have to hookup the stock calmap connector as well as the map sensor? Or is better to just upgrade the injectors?

i friend of mine did it and left both boxes at max timing, bad move. head gasket was going and small pieces got into his oil coolers for the pistons. i think it is ok as long as the tst box is not pushing more timing. but it did run great right up to the point of knocking. his truck had 34k on it, 2002 ho

Stacking TST and Edge Ez

Cudamanjr,
I have been running the TST PM3 Comp with an edge ez for several months and have had great results. Many believe that the BD timing box is better to run with the TST because it has less timing. The only time I had any trouble was when sled pulling. When running the TST and Edge my truck would miss at high rpm's. We disconnected the EZ and the miss went away. When drag racing I run better with both. I run 8.31 in the 1/8th mile at 82.5 mph and 13.16 in the 1/4 mile at 101.50 mph. Not too shabby for stacking boxes and a single charger.

I stacked both on my old truck (PM3 Comp and DD TTPM) and my dad stacks his, too (PM3 Comp and EZ). Neither one of us, nor several other guys in our area, have had any problems with stacking. My truck ran .35 quicker in the 1/4 with the stack (best of 12.95, dad's best is 12.94... both with single HX-40s), and I have seen up to a 50 hp gain on the dyno on a different truck. The ETHs won't see as large of a gain, and their headgaskets are more suspect, but the ETCs love it.

All the connectors will be different except the MAP sensor plug. Plug the TST into the block, the Edge into the TST, and the stock pigtail into the Edge. I found setting the EZ to the hottest setting to make the best power & speed.

I guess I'm missing something here... but with something like 800 to 1,000 ft. lbs. of torque avaliable with the new boxes why would you want to stack them? Or should I ask, how many spare transmissions do you have laying around?

Smiller,
I think the 800 to 1000 ft lbs of torque with a box only is referring to the new common rail boxes. The TST PM3 Comp is about the most aggressive fueling box anywhere. The Edge box is stacked with the TST to give your truck more timing. On the 98.5 to 02 the boxes alone only added I think about 340 ft. lbs of torque. The new TST Powermax CR for the 03's and 04's will add up to 500 ft. lbs. of torque.

OK, thanks for the info.

Got to love an engine where you can talk about a simple mod that adds 'only' 340 ft. lbs. of torque...
