Question Stacking and Edge EZ w/ TST PM2 or FMS Bluechip by itself

I looked on the Bluechip website and can't find out much information about what the Bluechip FMS box does. What would the difference be between running and Edge EZ stacked with a TST PM2 or just running a Bluechip FMS alone (or should something be stacked with the Bluechip)?

Thanks

I think the Bluechip FMS does fueling only...just like the TST's. I believe you could stack an EZ with either to get the timing, or Bluechip might make it's own timing box (don't really know, I'm not computer challenged)

That's what I was wondering Chris. The FMS is about $1100 dollars. It has boost and egt monitors on it, but I won't need those. A stacked Edge Ez/TST PM2 combo would run about the same $$ as just the FMS, but if I have to stack and Edge with the FMS, that is more than I want to spend.

Thanks,
~Rob

since i dont see a ez box in your profile if it was me i would look at a edge comp or some thing like that since you already want to tap the pump wire. why buy two boxs when all you would need is one

I agree. Most of us that stack, already had to EZ. Although I am partial to the TST anyway...makes no sense to buy 2 boxes. And why the PM2....maybe bgt it cheap? If you go that route, and can spend the money, send it in to Mark at TST and upgrade it to PM3 with the power selector. you won't regret it, IMHO.

This is where my non-understanding of boxes comes into play. If I just by the Edge comp, I wouldn't need to stack it with a TST PM2 (or 3)? I said a PM2 because I thought PM3 might be too much. I guess around here there is no such thing as too much

If you do go the TST/EZ stack, go for the PM3. It's adjustable where the PM2 isn't, and you can just turn it down when you don't need it. If you don't have any boxes, do like Kyle says and go for the Drag Comp, it does timing and fuel so kill two birds with one boulder (kinda too much to say "stone".

If I ever get a 24v I'll probably do a CaTCHER ECM, TST PM3, and a set of MACH 2-3-4, depending of where my 12v ends up and what I want to spend on chargers

or if you really like the tst pm3 and thats what you got your heart set on get a mad ecm and the tst pm3 and forget about that ez box . i hear this is a really nice set up. but i think you would be money ahead if you went for just a edge comp or the drag comp so you dont end up getting bored with the box .

so i take it you have not upgraded the clutch? im going to assume the drag comp will slip the clutch on 5x5, anybody else think so? be careful with it.

fuel system might need improvement, bigger fuel lines, larger banjos, etc. maybe a new lift pump if fuel pressure is low.

is it throwing any codes? do the on/off on/off on trick to see. if so and you still have warranty left get all things fixed because it will be a pain (if possible) once the wire is tapped.

just trying to give you a heads up, Pat

i vote drag comp!
