Stacking Fueling Boxes Works!!!!

Re:Stacking Fueling Boxes Works!!!!
I gotta agree with Rob on this one.

I'm running DD3's and a TST PM-2 with a EZ stacked on it and they work great with each other. My EGT's are higher running the EZ by it's self but with the PM on they drop almost 100*. ??? Not sure why I get a drop in EGT's with more fuel but that's how it worked. :

DB

Just curious, since the 60' times and 1/4 mile times were very close in your test and you attribute the difference to the stacking and un-stacking on the boxes, were your reaction times exact?
Steve

Do you still have the nickname, "Sleepystake"? ;D

Push Rod, my PM comp was updated to the latest program(at the time) late last fall, September or Octoberish.

Rob

Re:Stacking Fueling Boxes Works!!!!
Not trying to add controversy to the pot......but, (and please don't be offended)
The first run was done stacked.
The second run was done un-stacked.
Was there a third run stacked again (to backup the stacked run) to verify results? This would eliminate questions concerning "fluke runs" (similar to a "backup" run when setting a new E/T).
Also, a fourth run un-stacked would give positive proof of improvements. Two stacked and two un-stacked.

Re:Stacking Fueling Boxes Works!!!!
Just to throw in some more numbers, I dynoed earlier in the year when I had my DD2's with and without my EZ. With just the TSTPM3 Comp I dynoed 378hp.... with the EZ stacked I dynoed 413hp. 35 exta horses for any one who cares.

Horace

Re:Stacking Fueling Boxes Works!!!!
A couple of years ago, when Edge was first introducing the Comp, we had a mini dyno afternoon at Edge. Heberam, drawson, and myself were there getting lots of good dyno time.

I had been running an old 3 level Power Egde "beta" box stacked with an EZ. When I tried the new Comp, I lost 10 hp over the stacked combo. The Edge folks, Taylor and Brett, weren't surprised.

Stacking worked for me until the old Power Edge gave up the ghost, a couple of months ago. It was too old, and one of a kind, so Edge couldn't fix it. Forced me into a new Comp.

Kat:

Thanks for the comments!

----------
DanStewart:

Yes, my son made more runs that night and each
time the runs were faster with BOTH boxes
connected.

----------
Mark Thomas:

DTR member Doug made a good explanation of how
"stacking" works, but let me try to answer your question
on what a fueling box is. I know the membership will also
add to what I post.

Fueling boxes are basically small computer modules that
that add power to the 24 valve engines by adding fuel
and increasing boost. They hook up in somewhat different
ways, for example an Edge EZ plugs into the engines
MAP sensor and into the data port. Basically, (and I mean
this is VERY basic ), the fueling box is telling the
engine that "fueling is normal" but in reality it is not.
In the case of the TST PM 3, it is adding mainly fuel
and boost, but does not increase the timing by alot.
So,.....we add an Edge EZ or a DD TTPM which adds
more timing. This helps low end response as it did on
my son's truck and also on mine and others.

This was kind of a "simple" explanation, but I hope
it helped you some! As I said, I am sure the other
members can add to this.

-------
John_P
