Sputter at 3000 RPM'S!!!

I just got my 98 12v done, I yank out the JUNK ATS auto trans, and put a
5-sp in it, I absoulutly LOVE IT!! A couple months ago I put in a 4k GSK, and dealivery valves, after i put that in i notice this alittle with the auto, but with the 5-sp I can realy tell! When the RPM'S start to get around 3000rpms or above, it feels like it loosing power and it SPUTTERS, It still smokes at that high of RPM but its like it is in spert's. It's kind of hard to explain, but does anyone got any info, Is this a fueling problem?? Thanks Chris

I have Pyro, Boost, and tranny, of course tranny guage not hooked up anymore, getting ready to replace it with fuel pressure. My boost guage only goes up to 35, and i hit that like nothing. I talked to one of the diesel shops around here, and they seem to think its fuel, not enough fuel to the pump, they said i need a F.A.S.S system, or something simmiler, I never hear much talk on putting this on 12v's??

Yeah I don't think you need one unless you get up around 600 to 700 HP. What about your plate, has your govener arm been adusted? Do you still have the stock injectors in?

Not to good with numbers on it but the injectors are i think 300hp (not for sure), The cam plate was a custom ground down one, and the timming is supost to be advance 17degrees. The camplate and injectors have been in my truck about 3years and were taken out of my old dully, they were put in that about 5yrs ago.
When people start doing major things, like bigger pump, injectors, turbo, things like that, do they have to do something with their stock fuel system, bigger fuels line stuff like that?? But what i don't understand is that it still smokes real heavy at that high of rpms, but its like it in sperts, only a split sec apart.

if its split secs apart that sounds like your wastegate opening try disabling it or get a boost fooler or something to hold the wastegate shut longer.

might also want to check and make sure your fuel shutoff selinoid is coming all the way up while truck is running.

It may not be related but I thought I've read that if your putting the 4,000 springs in , a lot of guys where also putting in the heavery valve spring .
I not sure if this is a correct memerory or dislectic thinking.

find your wastegate then find the hose coming out of it and follow it all the way back to the afc. then loosen the clamp pull it off of the afc and thread a screw in it find a piece of vaccum hose or something to cap the barbed fitting on the afc be sure to put a clamp on it or it will blow off. There are pics of this somewhere on here but I can't find them.

Take alook here http://www.dodgedieseldatabase.com/t...up_a_p7100.htm then scroll down to where it says afc removal and you can see the line running out the back top left side of the afc then one in this picture has an adjustable boost pressure elbow on it thats what I was talking about in my other post. If yours doesn't have this you disconnect the wastegate here. As far as being safe its safe as long as you stay within the limits of your turbo but you posted before that your hitting 35psi of boost

Just watch your boost, at that high of an RPM. If it drops a lot, it could be the wastegate opening but i dont think that is your problem. How many rpm's can you turn in neutral before it start sputtering? Mine starts doing it at about 3200rpm's in neutral. Its aggrovating, but I dont know what you can do about it.
