Smoke is an under statment!!!
I just got done putting in a set of Bosh 370 injectors in my 12 valver, man, when its a little cold it smokes white and black smoke forever. It also runs very rough for a couple of mins or so. Should it be doing this? Also after runing the truck for a while when i just ease the pedal down almost wide open it will still pop and crack and blow blue smoke and a little white. Is it from where it is still not up to oper. temp? I'm going to set the timing up in a couple of days when i have it down putting the new clutch in it. Thanks for your help.
Probably is the timing as far as the popping/cracking is concerned.
Mine runs rough for the first couple of mins just like yours, but smooths out after that. You really need to take it a little easy until the water temp is up to full operating level.
You can lose some of the smoke by adjusting your AFC housing and spring.
What boost numbers are you making? You might need an adjustable controller to reach (and hold) about 25-27psi.
Is the K&N a drop-in for the stock airbox (Dodge)? If so, you might benefit from a cold air system like the Scotty II.
The 5" exhaust is overkill unless you plan to make 500+hp someday. It will actually hurt you some at your current power level. Generally, 4" is considered best for 350-500.
