with 80 horse sticks and the drag comp i don't think any 35 hybrid will be enough ...

i could be wrong ...

but you might consider a HTBG from HTT ...

mine spools almost as well as my little hy and runs much cooler ...

Yeah, im not sure at all, thats why I am asking you guys, lots of input so far, would I be ok if I got an HX-40? will I have a lot better luck with one from htt? I know I will be sacrificing spoolup with the 40, but I guess thats almost unavoidable in the higher HP range. 40's seem to go fairly cheap.

You would need to change your down pipe, for the HX35 hybrid you would not.

I have read problems with the HX-40's breaking a shaft cause they are a bit weak, can anyone clarify this? Thanks

It's not so much they are weaker, but the parts hanging on them are bigger.

So, if the shaft was tha same size between two turbos and one had lighter wheels and the other heavier.....you get the point.

I would shy away from the HX-40 unless your on a very tight budget! They work fine at steady turbo rpm (bigger trucks) but have been known to come apart when pushed hard on a performance CTD.
If you do get one... keep the boost down, 40 psi or less and you could do well.

I was just looking over at citydiesel.net and they have a couple of turbos under $1000, I was wondering about that BHT3B turbo they have, or the s400, they are a good price, but from reading the description, they wouldne be goold alone, only if your running twins. What do you guys think?

They also have the 35/40 hybrid, and a couple of turbonetics
