Smarty, or Turbo?

Smarty, or Turbo?
I am thinking about getting a smarty, but I am wondering if I should put the money towards a turbo instead, look at my sig and tell mt what you guys think, right now, with the drag comp all the way up and the pedal mashed, there is a good constant cloud of smoke behind me, and the smarty with comp will only add more fuel, and it already looks like I have enough fuel...

Since you have a Drag Comp already and are doing one or the other (right?)... I'd do the Turbo.
46 psi on your HX-35 is a serious condition and costing you big HP... IMO.
Parts from three different builders in your auto tranny....Interesting

Yeah, im going to drill out my wastegate elbow larger to lower the boost, or get an adjustable elbow, is there a way to change the wastegate to open at about 35psi instead of 20?
Yeah, I wanted to pick what I wanted for my trans, I got dustys valve body, best Ive ever heard of and a great person to work with, plus hes only a 30 min drive for me. I ordered the suncoast kit and a guy I used to work with installed it, and Everybody says goerends converter is the best, seems to be good so far.

turbo for sure.Ive got a comp and smarty on my 01,no sticks and ya i can hit near 50 when its cold out too. You've got enough fuel for now, after you get the turbo upgraded then get a smarty, the drivability is unsurpassed.

Don't stack a Smarty with an Edge Comp or Drag Comp you'll just loose horsepower and or torque. I've seen it on the dyno and I've seen it on the drag strip. Jeff

Ok, based on the opinions, I am planning on a turbo, what would be a good upgrade for around $500 to maybe $600? Id like a turbo that will still spool fast, will an hx40 be any good? Those usually go fairly cheap, I havent done much research on turbos.

If you want fat spool and have a tight TC, I would look to a hybrid HX35 first. While they give up some performance on top to the HX40, they spool much much faster and are more pleasureable to drive.
And, this makes a great top turbo if you decide to go to daily driven twins.

I disagree completely on that one!
The best driveability of any product IMO is the Edge Comp. Now if it was reliable, they would dominate the market.
As the HP goes up, especially with an auto, tight TC and tall gears, driveability really suffers with the Smarty.

But I agree with Jeff above, it does not help hp on a Edge Comp.

If I order the 35/40 hybrid kit from HTT, what type of internal work needs to be done to the turbo to make it fit? Also, how much more powerful is the hybrid than a regular hx-35? as far as top end, I am looking for a fairly good performance boost. Thanks guys.
