Smarty trial....im getting one!
It's a programmable mad ECM. You get to control the response level. Anything from a bit better than factory to full on catcher status. You can also put in a fuel saver program or a valet mode. It also reads and clears DTC's and adjusts your odometer for different tire sizes. Also, instead of having to buy year specific smarty's, you only have to buy one and it does all years of the 2nd gen 24v's. Some levels have timing to be run with a fuel only box (like the TST) or by themselves and the other levels have no timing to be run with a timing box (like the comp).
RIght on. How about HP? Is there a difference in power with the comp on 5x5 and smarty on #8(no timing advance)? I dont worry about egt's anymore and would like a little more poop. If not, only thing I would use it for is for reading codes. I already have a program to recal the speedo for bigger tires.
The smarty only adds about the same power as the EZ. But you don't buy the smarty for the power. You buy it for the responsiveness. Yes, it will give you more power, but it won't be a whole bunch more. If you want to severly wake up your bottom end, then the smarty is definately for you. Not to mention that it also has a fuel saver mode so when you go on long trips you can put that program in and get better mileage.
#9 + Mach II's + Burn-out + Stock Clutch = BAD CLUTCH FADE TO THE 3200 RPM POINT!
Throttle responce is unreal. Smoke with the injectors is heavy until full boost with my setup....but it is VERY controable....meaning you stab your foot into it....black cloud....you ease into it....no cloud.....i cant do that very easily with the EZ's i have tried.
Sorry Blue.....can't have all the fun with the stupid addition cliché!
