Is the trouble with the '99s in the ECM itself or the Injection Pump electronics?

I got an error message that said "Unknown Software"

100% stock truck (I removed the VA 35HP box) and I have owned it since new. Original ECM, & VP-44.

Are you looking to sell your smarty cheap?
I will take it off your hands and use it until they come up with a fix. I would hate for that thing to be just sitting around not being used.

Sorry FD, Bob Wagner said he would even pay for return shipping so I took him up on it. Hopefully, they will get all the bugs worked out.

I know that $300 will buy you a pyro/boost guage since you seem to have bombing fever =P

Marco,

If someone had this problem of corrupted software what would be the easiest fix? Couldn't you take it to the dealer and have it reflashed? Wouldn't this overwrite the corruted software? Just a thought.

If I wanted to be a guinea pig I'd bought a Ferd.

I think your statement is unfair. I'm not cheerleading for Marco or defending him. From everything I've read Marco has done extensive testing along with many Beta testers.

Glitches happen, after all, it's you that is wanting to bomb your truck, you know the risk involved. Problems tend to appear at the worst possible times. If any product doesn't work as advertised all you can ask is for the dealer or manufacture to take care of it.

I think it's only fair, in the future to contact the vendor and give him a chance to fix the problem before you bring it to an open forum. JMHO

Hope they get it straight for you, because I think once you experience Smarty you'll apologize for the Superchips remark...

Mike D you are right, I was wrong.

First, I think there has been alittle too much put into my comments. I'm not here to bash Smarty, it just didn't work for me, and I wanted to let "99" owners know there is an admitted fix coming, IF Smarty does not work for you yet. There are many "99" working Smarty, I'm just the unlucky one that has an early one.

I have received a FULL refund and everything is fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm not mad, just disappointed I'm not enjoying the added HP!

My comments about Smarty not being tested were inappropriate. We don't know if it is my truck or the ECM revision, but I'm confident Marcos will figure it out. I stand ready to help in any way I can to help him resolve the "early "99" issue.

I want to thank Bob Wagner for very quickly refunding my money, and I look forward to doing business with him again very soon.

I'm sure (since there are many working Smartys out there) that my situation is unique and fixable.

Sorry if I have disparaged anyone, any product, any company, in anyway.

Larry

*** SMARTY UPDATE ***

After a no go on the 1st try Marcos & Bob went back to the drawing board and came solved the problem I had, and returned the Smarty. It works GREAT! Really points out my slipping tranny. Dave Goerend get's my truck next week for a full blown tranny & a 3 disc TC.

Life is good when Smarty is under the hood.

Marcos & Bob are top notch. Buy a Smarty with confidence, they will take care of you if you need help.
