Sliding the plate

Alrighy, question is sliding the fuel plate, obvious benifit would be the extra power. But now, does sliding the plate give you the power at the loss of mileage? Or does it improve the mileage? Any other benifits?, Like ive said im not out to set hp records, and if i was i wouldnt be worried about the mileage haha. Just squeezing some more out without sacrificing one of the reasons i got the 12v

These are the chapest power adders for a 12V in order.

1. Slide the stock plate
2. Add a boost elbow
3. Add timing
4. Buy a #10 plate
5. Buy a 16 or 18.5 housing
6. 3 or 4K's
7. DV's
8. Turbo
9. Pump Tweaks
10. Twins
11. Race Pump
12 Water/Meth injection
13. Bigger Twins
14. 2 stage...O-ring head
15 Bad A$$ intercooler
16. Subscription...to I've lost my mind Magazine

I've completed the list but looking for the mag!

Should injectors be in your list Jim? I'm curious what number you'd put them.

Sliding the plate forward probably increases egts more than any other mod, it's foolish to do without a pyro first.
Your cheap new horsepower could turn into an expendsive new engine.

Ditto

DONT MOD WITHOUT GAUGES!!!!!

Good point, modding and driving blind is just a recipe for disaster, its only a matter of time till you burn her down

Crap, forgot injectors! How about before or after #7 depending on the pump!

DV's are delivery valves!

Guages are a must with any mod until you get to my power level then you have to have recalls on all of them cause you only watch the road

I thought guages were just for looks. I mean they always seem to be rubbing the stop peg on the right hand side anyway.

My mileage went up with the plate.

As per sliding ... free hp & torque is a beautiful thing.

Slight tweak to Jims list:

1. Slide the stock plate.
2. Disconnect & block off the wastegate signal.

Dieselcrazy, You have at least 181 DV's in you truck now. They are good for a hell of allot of power and upgrades before you need to think about them.

I read these threads closely as I am going to do some more upgrades to my 94. Will be down at PDR at the end of
April to have it done. Is there any combination of performance accessories that will give approx 350HP without running into egt problems??? I use my truck for towing my tt and tandem axle car hauler, of which my heaviest load would be a JD60 (6000 lbs). There are hills/mountains every direction around here. Right now I am looking at having the timing, exhaust, injectors, delivery valves and turbo (HX35-14) done. I know I am going to still have to watch my right foot. Camshaft will have to wait. most everyone wants the added power with egt control. Is it possible??
