Sled Pulling on an HX40
How many "OCCASIONAL" pullers out there pull on an HX40?
I bought some parts a while back to rebuild an HX40 turbo because the price was "right" and I knew once I got a good clutch I'd want to add more power (as well all do :-laf ).
So I'm still up in arms on who to send it to, but I'm leaning towards High Tech Turbo right now. Althought I just thought about it tonight and EEP was one place that I didn't call about a cartridge to rebuild it. Although I doubt they deal in those type's of things I bet they could give me some advise on pulling with it.
I don't plan on pulling more than 4 time's a year MAXIMUM, and I've heard as long as you keep the 40's wastegated below 40PSI then they will usually live. Well I plan on keeping it wastegated as well as an adjustable elbow on it to let it go no higher than 36PSI.
Comments, suggestions, thoughts wanted and appreciated.

What about Piers? No complaints on mine its a good little turbo.

I originally looked at High Tech cause they were a little less expensive Jamie, and they are closer as well. Plus I've heard nothing but good things about them on the TDR, as well as had great phone conversations. All of which I can say about PDR as well.
Something else has come up as well so I may end up sending it to Piers anyways and tell him to make it as bulletproof as possible because I need a bigger turbo, AND I want to pull "some" next year.

Mine worked great I switched to the B1 for the comfort zone in me which needed to be filled with a turbo with a few less horror stories along with a faster spool up and lower WOT and cruise EGT's. Don't get me wrong I personally have no probs with the PDR 40 it just didn't have the EGT reductions and the toughness for me. Its still a great turbo for the under 400 HP crown I think.

Well I don't plan on going more than 450 which is where I think I'll end up with the 40, my #10 full forward...or a plate I might do a little grinding on But I'm gonna keep my 300s.
The price was just "right" for these parts and I have an extra exhaust housing that I can sell too. ;D But I was in need of a bigger turbo and I can't afford any of these $1200-1500 turbos
