Does anybody make a short shift kit for a nv4500? if they dont i think i might try to fab one up

 

BD makes one, but you need the 99 and newer top cover for it to work. When I got my trans. rebuilt they sent me a new style trans. It has the new style to cover. Just by having that it shortened the shifts alot. Go to the junkyards and see if you can find one. Keep an eye out on Ebay also.

 

Just a word of warning, I got the SB dual disk and the short shift at the same time and a good heavy clutch that wont slip also wont slow down to let you shift without that extra leverage. I had to switch back or add a cheater bar to get third. (I swiched back)

 

Yeah thats why I dont have the short shift kit. Dual Discs and short shift kits in a NV4500 dont mix.
I am watching the weighted shift **** thread. Sounds kind of promising for guys with Dual Discs.

 

Wheres this thread at? My short throw makes mine very hard to shift.

I hated my DD clutch with the short shift too. Not worth it
