Seen the new Four Wheeler magazine?
In the top truck challenge there's a guy with a Suburban that has what looks to be a 24 valve cummins with a p7100 pump and twin turbos.
He's claiming 1000hp and 3400lbft with 150psi.
Is 3400lbft even possible? Can a dyno even measure that? Sounds pretty crazy to me!

yeah he said the turbos are capable of 150 psi but are usually gated to 50 psi. even if his rig is CAPABLE of those number, i highly doubt he runs the motor that high from reading the article. but i second the fact that i want to see dyno sheets! i also want to see him put it in 4wd and power brake all 4 of the 44" boggers.

Here is a vid, http://www.fourwheeler.com/2004toptr...llenge/videos/
It is the first movie on the page and you have to watch a nissan ad before it plays.

ya that rig is pretty sick, but to belive those figures would be crazy...
could you imagine the tranny and transfer case he would have to run to hold that kind of power...
not to mention he would need 2.5 ton rockwells so to not turn the axles into pretzel twists with a little bit of throttle, especially with 44"s at either end...

No. I doubt anyone has topped 2000 ft-lbs at the wheels. Remember that the sledpullers run like 6k rpm. HP = TQ * RPM/5252
So 1500 rwhp at 2000 rpm would equate to a lot more torque than 1500 rwhp at 5000 rpm.

I just saw this post,,Im a judge for this competition that the suburban in question is in,,,The owners name is Jason Johnson from ODP diesel in canada..
I did not see a dyno sheet but I know 5600 trans has massive input and output shafts..

Chapter President
I'm not impressed.......if that CTD is making big power, that clip is not doing it any justice..........Of course it is not making 3400 ft/lbs.......I question if you could even load a 5.9 CTD on an engine dyno to 3400 ft/lbs without it grenading.......the crank and internals are just not large enough to put up with 3400 ft/lbs of load, IMO........If I were to judge by that video, I would be surprised if it were making 1300 ft/lbs.......Many 600 hp BBC's out there that swing 44" Boggers with ease and they are making half the torque!
