Scotty 2 ??

Just finished routine maintaince, while snugging clamps on FIPK Tube from turbo to filter, found fractures in clamp area ,. Looks like its time to get my air else where. I've been reading all the threads and have looked hard at the Scotty system. I'm a little confused with
the instructions on the install from the Scotty web site. 1) Where's the large filter from page 1
go on page 2 .2) Do I have to cut a hole in the firewall . I do very little towing, but run 300 miles on weekends to Camp.

The filter slides inside the filter housing... The two inlets (fender & cowl) are merely ducts leading to the filter. You do not HAVE to cut the hole in the firewall... But the hole is really the beauty behind the system. Still large gains to be had without the hole though.

You don't HAVE to cut the hole in the firewall, but the unit performs best with the hole-- it's designed for it.

The hole is known for bringing a little turbo whine noise with it, so most guys who choose not to cut the hole do so only because of the noise.

IMO, the noise is a small price to pay for a such a great unit! Scotty 2 Rocks!

Also, to clarify, you don't cut a hole in the firewall, that would be insane.

You cut the hole in the "cowl" which is above the firewall.
You are basically tapping into the air space below the windshield, same place the heating/AC gets it's air.

Kind of like a Cowl Induction Hood, but hidden.

Best Mod I've done (after joining) was getting the credit card company to raise my limit.
