I dont know. someone else had the same setup I'd have if I ever put those ddp4's in and he was getting like 530hp adn 1200foot pounds. I think johnsjas has me beat by a pretty good amount!

Roger that. Your super b would start spooling quicker than Bjans's sps 62, but the super 62 will flow more air in both directions =P The super 62 with a s400 would cool more fuel than the vp44 can produce, but would be slightly slower than the sps is by itself.

So you think it would slow the spool up down even more? I think its pretty dang slow as it is. I'm only starting to get power at 1800-2000rpm. Of course I only have my 215 injectors in and that might be causing some slowness.

Hey Captain I'm not so sure thats the case because I think I'm throwing plenty of fuel at my turbo and like you spool up is slowww it's right around the same as you. And to be honest for the cash I shelled out I hate to say it but I miss my stocker bottom end torque! But this might mean I just need to chendgd things around a bit with twins!

yeah I wish I hadnt gotton this turbo. it was "suposed" to be good enough to run all the fuel I wanted to but with just the stock injectors im hitting 1100degrees. I'm afraid of putting the ddp4's in. And with either my trans being rebuilt or the DD clutch my shifts when from how fast you can snap your fingers to a full second at the fastest so the slow spool up hurts even more.

Thats the general rule of thumb- twins spool slightly slower than the little turbo did as a single. Check out the following link- its a pdf dyno graph of a hx35 vs twins vs a super 62. The stock turbo actually makes more power than the super 62 until 2300 rpms on this truck. Also note the steepness of the curves for an idea about how quickly these setups spool.

His twins seem to produce the most power at low RPM. but his new single is probably even faster spooling then my sps62 but creats the power later then anything else. Does that mean that if I use the sps62 ill be starting the power even later then his (where mine probbaly comes in now) and keep building to higher rpm? something thats totally useless to me since the truck defules at 3k

When you look at the hx35 vs hx35 in twins you can clearly see the slower spool, but also the appreciable difference in power at low rpms. My dream twins currently are a super b/ htbg over a k31, but I'm strictly an armchair engineer at this point so I'll bow out now to those with personal experience

I can tell you this if twining my ss62 with an s400 would make the spool even slower I don't think I want to deal with that either. What set up would be a happy medium? I want a little of both power down low and zip on top. Is there such a set up? Or is it one way or another?

Do you know what twin setup he was running? IMO, the dyno curve of the twins (esp low end torque) looks like a lot more fun daily driver than the big single, and even better for towing.

what would the difference be in runnin a k31 underneeth instead of a s400? would it be wise to step down to a regular phat shaft 62 instead of the super for spool up??

The K-31 will spool much faster then the s-400! Ron A ran a sps62 over a K-31 for some time and had good things to say about it. The K-31 will make less power (peak) but will be very drivable and most peoples best bet if they want to tow.

Hmm What other options besides the k31 for a primary are there that will help with the quick spool up?

If you don't like the spoolup of an SPS62 or HTT 62, don't even think about twins. You won't be happy.
