S300:S400 twins

Who has run this setup? Im thinking of using my sps 62 as the top charger and throwing an s400 underneath it. What kind of performance will i get out of this combo? ie towing, racing, boost pressure, what will temps be, etc. Thanks

I am running an S300/S400 and love it. The spool up is faster than with just my S300 and I like the setup for racing. My egts are around 1200*F at the track. I have not used them for towing. I run around 80psi.

There's a wide range of turbos called s300 and s400, can you be a bit more specific John?

Hey John I'm thinking my next mod is going to be an s400 under my ss. How did you do your set up? Was it custom or were you able to by a little here and a little there? Do you have any details pix?? Also you say the s300 spools even quicker now? How much quicker? I deal with a little heat before mine spools I'm wondering if this would cure that problem??

I'm also thinking of running a s400 under my sps62 to keep things cool.

If your talking to me my name is jason not john. My last name is johnson. To try to answer some questions, all of my parts were custom. For my turbo exhaust flange and compressor flange, I drew the parts in Pro-e (solid modeling software) and cut them out on a CNC. The plumbing is 4" exhaust pipe that I cut and welded together. If your looking to buy parts check out source automotive.

Fuel mods
bigger injectors ~220hp
0 plate
Laser DVs and holders

My S300 is a super b from BD performance. The S400 I bought from city diesel. I dont know all the specs, sorry.

I did all my work with the help of a friend and there are pics in my gallery

Dang thats alot of fuel. I guess with my 215hp pump, 100 plate, ddp4's (140hp?) and lasers or those 022's I should be well in the clear! thanks for the input over here.

Yeah I dont have nearly enough fuel. I need to rip the 160 pump off and get a 215 or just put new plungers and barrels in it.

Yea I was talking to you Jason since our trucks are similar I was wondering a lot of things and the first one was how the 160 pump was holding up supplying the fuel and I guess the answer was it is but it can use more! Have you hit the rollers yet Jason? Was the super b hot running before you added the s400? How does the combo cool the works??? Lots of questions I know because I need to be sure before embarking on the next project like I said the turbo I have now is a bit hotter than I like and the hope is that adding the s400 with more fuel things would cool off early on....

The 160 pump keeps up alright. I can get it to smoke like all getup on the street but once the turbos spool there is nothing. I like to see a little haze a full throttle. It cleans up real good.

Last time I was on the rollers I had only the s300 and I was hitting 608hp and 1350 ftlbs. It was a mustang dyno. I have dropped over 0.7s in my 1/4 mile time so I figure I am putting down 700-750hp.? Now my pump is limiting me. My egts were around 1300* on a hard pull at the track (I race it and dont pull anything) Now the egts are around 1150 to 1200*. Driving in town the temp stays around 550*

Always glad to help let me know if you have anymore questions.

I'd bet your pushing way more fuel he's only got a 160 pump, there's a world or difference with that and your 215!
