Replacing the AFE

I'm looking to replace the filter on my AFE but still reuse the shield. The typical BHAF number is too big to put in that space, anyone know of a smaller size filter or the part number to get said filter?

Anyone replaced the oil requiring filter with an oilfree from NAPA (or the like)?

just wondering why you want to replace the afe. are you tired of oil on the filter. afe and many other have dry style filters. as well pros and cons are out there with both. I use the race version afe and use pro-guard afe both are oiled. if it is due to air flow? oil? just wondering. I know amsoil makes a dry never used them. there are alot out there to choose from. as well as putting a outerwear (sock) on them as well. alot of these companies make more say customized sizes also pending what you want. straight, cone, oval sizes etc. really comes down to what your trying to replace it for. hope this helps some.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I am just getting tired of cleaning and re-oiling the filter. I would rather just replace it with a dry one. I'm looking for afe or k&n or Napa (BHAF) dry filters but haven't really had any luck finding one. I ordered the one from Napa for the BHAF and it is too big to use with my shield from the afe kit...

afe makes a dry one for it. I never used k/n when I did look at them long time ago at the time afe was the best for layers of filtering. now days there are alot more choices out there. even more now for the dry. afe, amsoil, I think s/b also. I think genosgarage list the afe dry one you would need. I'm assuming you have the stage 2 system if its the stage 1 system with the shield should still be able to get a dry one for it.

I just purchased an Amsoil EAAU4095 for $66. It has a bolt on the end to help support it and a hole in the end for the OEM flow gauge. We'll see how it works out....
