I was wondering if "any" diesel rated fuel hose would work on a pushlock fitting? Im able to get about 25 foot of Gates XL rubber fuel hose for free, from what i read its rated for diesel, but im not possitive if they will work efficiently on a push lock??

I think the pushlock will work with what ever hose so long its the same (ie, 1/2 fuel line and 1/2 push lock)
try a piece of hose on your push lock, you have to lub it to get it on, its a tight fit!

 

That's what all the fuel systems come with.
1/2" pushlock usually the other end is a 8JIC.
