I believe it has to be changed? You can use a needle valve with or swap out for an elbow that has the set screw.

There is no stock boost elbow, only aftermarket.
You can buy an elbow on ebay for under $20

Stock boost setting will be 20 or 21psi typically.

You have to modify the signal to the wastegate to raise this.

The proper way is with a boost controller. I bought mine from www.boostcontroller.com (no affiliation)

I took mine off, just plugged the hole

I haven't hit 40 yet, but 35 isn't too hard to get.

I'll get a load on it and a good pull see if it goes too high, stock turbo don't wanna get 40 lbs on it

That's only for the electronically controlled 24 valves.
Won't work on the all mechanical 12 valve.

Just plugging the wastegate hose at the turbo works great as long as it keeps the boost under 35 psi.

well like i said, looks like i have a boost elbow has a set screw and everything. i just don't like the idea off plugging it and no control. wouldn't want to go over 35psi on stock turbo....not worth the risk.

You're thinking of a boost fooler. Boost controller goes inline between the manifold signal and wastegate to delay opening of it. It'll work on anything with a wastegate.
