Quadzilla Recon on a 12v.
Quadzilla Recon on a 12v.
I was just playing around with the idea of getting the Recon for my 3500. I know pretty basic but I think it would do its job just fine.

From what I understand I could still monitor EGTs and tranny temps with it, but I would still have to get an analog boost gauge and something like a column mount.
Besides the electronics vs. analog wars, got any opinions?
Thanks,
DFO

Ive been thinking about losing some gauges and going with one of these or the larger ones that displays 4 readings at once. Not so much for the amount of gauges for the space (which is great) but for the alarm function. Would be nice to get a flash or a buzz to let me know Ive reached a set point like 1450F or 38PSI. Beats being distracted by having to keep an eye on your gauges.

We have had several people just buy 98-00 Map sensors or even 01-02 Map sensors and screw them into the intake horn like a regular boost gauge. Then you supply 5volts and a ground and connect the Commander wire to the signal wire and then you have a map sensor. I want to say that they are around $60. The downside is the only read in the mid 50psi range. I have seen some that work for the full 5v swing but, it is rare and those will go into the 60psi range.
The advantage to our sensor is that you can use 12v which is much handier and you just take a normal gauge fitting 1/8 npt and run the hose to the sensor. For those that need it you can read up to 102psi as well.
They are in production right now, we just have been slammed. We should have them out pretty quick. It is meant mainly for 12v trucks, older Ford trucks and really hot rodded CR trucks that make in excess of 45psi of boost.
