Well transmission wise you might be in for more than a TC depending on you power mods. If its the original trans. with 187k on the clock than I would go ahead and rebuild it.
Fuel mods -- sky is the limit, again dependent upon your goals for the truck.
Front end parts - your gonna have to be more specific.

Tras was built at about 175,xxx ,but lost TPS shortly after. TC lost alot of ummph pulling my camper back from MI. TC is sliping when cold , but trans pulls great when it warms up . So have'nt had any majors whatsoever !!! But am looking to make a serious puller , but a good driver soon . As far as the front goes, need to replace my track bar (bad left pull, and lane swap at times ) and a tie rod end to the pitman arm . havent found any fronts that look like mine yet, so still searching !!
Let me start by recommending Luke's link rather than replacing the track bar and tie rod ends.

Hard to go wrong with a Goerend transmission. Good stuff, you probably just get away with an good performance transmission, with no billet parts. The TC will be alot better. You have a lift or stock ride height? A 3rd gen track bar is good fix, same goes for the steering brace. Have you checked the ball joints? How about the hubs? As for the fuel system, there are lots of good choices. I run a fass 150 for about 6 years and a homemade draw straw pick-up. How far do you want to go for mods? Twins turbos and big sticks make for a fun daily driver

Heard alot about Goerend , and everybod is really happy !! I'm atstock height right now , depends on work and staying home if i ever get to lift her ! The fass fuel system sounds really nice, just have'nt done alot of research yet . Been researching the Fass oil by-pass filter for a couple years now , and am impressed !! But the front has to go for WAY better !!! Dont really need the twins to pull my camper , bout blew it apart with my other truck , and need to slow it down a bit ! My front axle has direct connected axles ,straight to the wheels ! pretty cool set up , just rough turns in a parking lot , but really bites the ice ! Ball joints are solid and in great shape . Just want some smoke ,and much better top end for the mountains . Gonna try to keep this one off the track for a while and get a 2500 to make my racer , later . But I am really bad to hook a trailer with way more weight than it should have, but always tried to keep manuals for that . Now with my campers , autos have been nice on the hi-way . Just need more wind in her , just don't wanna pee myself pullin ! Wanna do that with a play truck , campers don't do well over a hundred ,like with my last truck !!!!
I would put on a bigger turbo and adjust your pump abit. What timing you running? Which pump you running? The stock mechanical lift pump will be fine on a 12v till around 450rwhp. Draw straw will helps. Of the top, I would do the transmission and run a S364/65 or S362/71 depending on which converter you run or how heavy you tow. Towing is about living with egt's. Twins help so you can run more power, with less egt's, which is nice when you tow. Water/meth spray is also very good, keeps egt's down. You can build a nice daily 450-500rwhp truck and tow anything. EDM injectors would also help out some.
As Mike suggested if your talking big fuel mods your stock trans will never handle it. I learned the hard way on mine. Give Dave Goerend a call and do the trans first. You start turning up these rigs the stock trans will never hold they are JUNK!

If you don't have gauges better get them next. Boost, Pryo, EGT.
Good starting place here ISSPRO package.

That should keep you busy for awhile. Good luck in mods. Once the addiction starts its hard to stop.

Thanks guys for all the information and links . My truck is running a 180h P-7100 pump at stoc timing (not a clue where it is ,pretty sure its a bit low ) , trans built back to stock , and pull about 10k on my camper . My worst thing is dependability, got my butt and my wallet handed to me n a regular basis with my FRD , don't want hat happening again !!! If they call she's gonna have to pull up her dress , hook up, and haul tail at a minutes notice ! Gonna give these guys a call and start gettin her in shape for the next ride ! Good thing is I have Southeast Diesel here local , and Geno's is less than 2hrs away !!! Got good folks to help with needs, fast !! Great info guys , thanks big , and keep it coming for the noobs to CUMMINS !! Thanks again !
Get your pump benched, put in the mack plug (allow more rack travel) and go with a 4gsk for gov springs. You can adjust the pump for max cc's of fuel. Then I would get a set of edm injectors, lots of guys out that make injectors. Throw on a S364/71 turbo, run some water/meth. You should smoke be able to smoke anybodies ride at that point and tow that little 10k trailer. Gauages are a must. Have you done the dowel tab repair yet, the one inside the gear box?
I have not done the KDP yet , and that thing is on my mind ! I am thinking that for my use , a 3k wuld mak me quite happy with just a bit more gov. But turbo size hasn't made an issue in my mind yet, but i will need the extra air , I'm sure . Looking at guages now , with the links that Helena sent me ! still perty dumb on the cummins stuff , always had pchokes and got burned really bad several times ! So i need all the help i can get !! Thank you guys for all your help on my new adventure !!
