Pump mods

Well since ive got my pump off right now it would be the best time to do any sort of tweaking that I may want to do. So far all thats done to my pump is a 4KGSK, 0 plate full forward, and lazer cut DVs. What else could we tinker with while its off? Ive heard people talk about the rack travel mod, and somethin about a 21mm plug or somethin, lol. I cant remember exactly. I guess i need to do a little searching. Any suggestions???

Nows a good time to do the rack plug since its off as I dont think you could change it with the pump on. The Bosch # for the plug is 1 413 462 095 000
Afc mods are really worth doing but you can do them anytime.

I'd say take it to a pump shop and let them tune it on the bench.

What exactly does the bigger plug do? Just allow for more fueling?

I believe the part number above is for a plug for the pumps used in the Mack trucks. It is basically a shorter plug. The plug is at the front of the pump and limits rack travel. The farther out the plug is or the shorter the plug, the more rack travel you get. I have always read that you need to do some AFC gutting to take advantage of it though. Good Luck!

By the way, what all are you doing? I've seen you reference taking a lot of the engine apart, what all is in store for it?

I heard that the mack plug or the gold plug doesn't do much besides add heat and smoke on the 215 pumps, it is a better mod for the smaller pumps. Forrest will chime in soon.

Sorry I bought it from the local Bosch pump shop.
As far as the plug only adding heat and smoke on a 913 pump well I guess its who you ask.
