Puke Bottle?

Puke Bottle?
I hear people saying to remove the puke bottle on these trucks and get rid of it? What exactly is that and what can be done to remove it? I didn't know where exactly to put this topic in the discussion forums so what the heck I threw it in here.

ok the puke bottle in in front of the engine. stand up on your bumper and look down, its located to the left of the ps pump. it its a hose that has a plastic critter on there. it gets rid of the blow by and the bottle catches oil that may get in the hose. if its left uncleaned or full of water it will get oil all over the front of the engine. i just took it off, added a 3/4 ridgid coupling and attached a peice of liquid tight flexible conduit or seal tite. and ran it to the bottom of the truck. that solved my problem of the oil getting every where on the front of the engine.

I've found that even if you keep the bottle emptied, the fan likes to blow around the vapors that come from the hose, and the front of the engine still gets all messy. I like to ditch the bottle and extend the hose so the end is well below the fan's reach.

Any fixes?

I am tring to fix this myself. I think I am going to run a universal oil filter unit on the side of my frame and change it every 3000 miles with the oil change. The unit will have a 3/4 or 1" opening so it should vent well. Also it should never restrict because of the 3000 mile change.

The filter is an oil filter and stays clean. Can get one from Performance Car & Truck Denver, CO. Call Rob Watkins at 303-278-8038 to get one. It's stainless.
