which PSC steering gear???
which PSC steering gear/box???
SG-841MR : xtreme duty with cyl. assist (13-16:1 ratio)
SG-841MX : xtreme duty w/o cyl. assist (13-16:1 ratio)
SG-841MD : cummins diesel specific (20:1 ratio)
im leaning towards the 'xtreme duty w/ cyl. assist' as it provides a numerically lower ratio and has the cylinder assist for the 305/70's i have.
curious as to what others out there have and what you you recommend or what you might have done differently.

also, how easy is the install?
thank you for the help!!!!

Been wondering the same thing, however after having replaced one hub bearing my steering has tightened. I'm going to do the other side this weekend since I figured with one out, the other will follow soon. My hope is that it will shure up the steering without changing out the steering box.
I'm still curious though in case I continue to have some issues.

I've been running the MD(20:1) for a while now, and with either 35's or 37's, it has worked good. I would be interested to hear any feedback on the quicker ratio boxes out there.
The upgraded pumps are also key for any high mileage trucks, especially on a low idling 12V. Makes parking lot manuevers easier.

I dont have oversize tires on mine yet, but I have the extreme duty model without assist and its ok. definitely an improvement.
I found the worst part of the whole ordeal was getting at one of the nuts in the middle where the bracket is on the frame. I needed a 18" extension, a universal and a crows foot to get at the !@#$!@# thing.
Careful with the oil connection on the bottom of the vacuum pump if the line is corroded it might not swivel properly and try to back the sleeve out of the crimp. I had to buy a new line from cummins and it was something like 56$ for that tiny part.
Re-sealing the vacuum pump got me an extra few inches of vacuum. Spec is 8-25 inches I think.
