propane?

I was interested in getting as much info on runnin LP. i am lookin to see if it is worth it for the benefits of mpg and performance. suppose to be 99% efficent as to 85 runnin straight fuel. if that is correct then if i can keep my foot out of it i should see a bit more mpg. another ? is how often can you run the LP gas. is it possible to run it everyday? and is there any drawbacks?

Hi, welcome to the site! Yes, it can get you better mileage on your diesel fuel, and more power, but you have the expense of the kit and tank and propane, so the benefits for just mileage would take forever to make up if ever. However if you want more power, than go for it! Hopefully somebody that runs it will give you some good feedback. I think the only drawback is running it with a lot of timing advance and causing engine damage. Fill in you signature so everybody knows what truck you have.

You can run propane without problems it will actually make your engine run cleaner and better fuel economy especially with Diesel prices so high. Yes there can be problems with too much timing if you run a timing box such as an ez or a comp but propane is great on a stock truck with just intake and exhaust mods most systems will give you 80-100hp.

Every time I have heard this discussed, one of the first things I hear is, "Say NO to drugs", meaning propane and nitrous.
So, does this just mean I shouldn't do propane for high HP, and it would be OK for added fuel economy?
So far, my truck is drug-free.

Kinda what I figured. I don't think I need drugs anyway, since I have almost 600 to the rear wheels on #2 only.
By the way, when you have the HP, by #2 or propane, you want to use it, so unless you do a lot of highway driving, you may not see the savings in fuel costs.
