Re:Propane?

If you want a good homemade system, check out some of the old guys ever on thedieselstop.com in the 6.9l section. Huff and another guy I can't remember both have a lot of practice with those.

Re:Propane?

I personally don't think a homemade propane system is a real good idea. Propane can and does cause fires/explosions. My neighbour just had his trailer burn to the ground over a propane leak. It would be kinda hard explaining to the insurance company that you had a homemade propane system on what used to be your truck. Just my 2 cents.

Re:Propane?

I am with the EVIL one, homemade propane systems or nitrous systems are not a very good ideal. Not only are all the connections and assorted plumbing critical, they are also a potentual fire hazzard. Also the engine needs to have these matterials addministered in very strict ways. Then you have the tank, not only does it have to be specialy made for use on the highway, but they need to be mounted properly so they don't become a missile in the event of a wreck. I think this is one area that only store bought products should to used. Your liability in the event of an accident alone would keep me from tring anything home brewed.

Re:Propane?

are you looking for the ones for the 5.9 or the 6.9L? BullyDog makes good NOS and LP systems. I have heard that for the 6.9L fords that LP or NOS isnt good with the 21.5:1 compression. Is that true?

Re:Propane?

Get withe GaCamper on this board. He has a very nice setup that I helped him design. Basically it is just like the ATS system minus the electronic gadgets and minus the high price.

I think propane is okay, if used with common sense and moderation. However, on a first gen, I wouldnt run propane unless I didnt plan on BOMBING it to heavily.
