I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Reg Cab 4X4 Auto and pull a 5 ver, what would be recamended to get a lettle more HP and what guages should I have to moniter all the vitals.
I am new to having a deisel but here the Cummins is a good place to start. Just need to get a bit more info to help me along.

Welcome. If you have time to read you will learn a ton about these trucks. First off you need to fill in your signature all about your truck so everyone can help better knowing what you have and so you dont have to type it in everytime. Do this by clicking on "user cp" above to get to your profile. As for gauges, you should have a Pyrometer for EGT's (E)xhaust (G)as (T)emperature, a fuel pressure guage to monitor the Lift Pump, a Boost guage, and a Transmission temp guage since you have an auto. Guages are very important if you want to know what your truck is doing. Any power upgrades are in direct relation to how much you want to spend on your truck. They can be VERY fast and tow like you never thought possible but you have to weigh reliablity verse power verse money. I couldnt possibly tell you everything you need to know now so all I can say is read, read, read. Ask questions but try not to ask big general questions or a lot of questions at once or your answers will not be as good. Be specific and to the point and you should get what your looking for.

Gauges are a must if adding power....and even if not, due to your towing.
Most who tow add an Edge EZ and maybe some slightly bigger injectors ( Mach 1's).

Good source for advice and to get products...Call Rod at http://www.wildcatdiesel.com/ Very knowledgable and easy to talk to!
Any more than that & you will need to address upgrading your auto tranny. Actually, if you have the funds, doing the tranny first is a great improvement by itself...and lets you add any power you need/want without having to worry about slipage. My choice was...

Do a search on each of these item topics or just check out their web pages as a good place to start. As your research starts to confuse you...ask away. Someone here will always be willing to help. We've all been where you are.
Good Luck
