Possible problem with iron fitting?

I installed the FASS a week ago. I put a fuel pressure gauge near the IP with a brass t fitting at first. It cracked from overtightening and leaked. So I went to Lowes and bought a cast iron fitting. Will it rust and possibly put debris in the IP. Should I change it out? Or am I just being crazy. Thanks guys. T

I agree with the brass, that should be in there. But... if the fitting is galvanized, stop what you are doing, go out there and get it out. Diesel and galvanized do not mix and will flake off and take out your vp.

I changed out the line and put the sender in the gauge socet in the FASS. So far so good.
