Polished housing!

Got one of the early Silver 62 that not came with a polished housing.
Brett offered me to polish it for me, but It had already travelled over the Atlantic sea, so I thought I could do it myself while waiting for injectors.

Anyone who had done this before and have a few hints on how to do it?

Polishing

I polished Mine, Its not bad if you have alot of time but it takes a while. Best combo I found was emory cloth, then 400 grit, then 800 then 1000 then 2000 and then wet sand 1000 and wet sand 2000 then use rubbing compound with the 2000 and then polish.

Mothers

Mothers power metal for aluminum. I wet sanded with it also then used a terry cloth and Mothers powerball to get it shiney.

Polishing something the size of a compressor housing can take a week or so depending on how much you work on it each sitting. I polished a small welding project once and it took forever, did look like a mirror when done though Obben, what kind of HP is that Silver 62 supposed to support? Isn't it supposed to spool even faster than a SPS62? Where did you get it? lol, sorry for the ?'s

I´dont really know how much it´s supports... some say 600+ and some says up to 700... (same s**t different name i suppose )
I think it´s slower to 10 psi but after that its way faster to 50!
Someone said it would spool like a 62 but cool like a 64
But what do I know?? It´s still sits in my livingroom, waiting for some fuel to happen
Got it from PDW in the groupbuy last year

i use 180, then 300 , then 600. then finish with a cloth polishing wheel with jewelers rouge. ( i use a bench grinder style on my makita hand grinder) works like a charm makes fast job of it.

Can you use for grinder for every step(180, 300, 600) or just the end?
