Well Coobie,

If it is anything like the one for my '02, it was a piece of cake. Screws on my truck are Torx, but I had the right size. Less than a 10 minute install. Go for it, the fuel door looks awsome.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you wanting to draw attention to the fuel door? Go grab a set of those stainless steel door handle covers and make them shiny instead.

It's all good.

I bought one from them, had to grind down the stock torx head bolts under it (the ones that hold the plastic to the body). Then it fits very flush and looks factory installed, it looks very nice. I bought the locking version (couldn't find a locking gas cap) and I love it. I once had a problem with people steeling gas, and putting things in them (had a ranger cost me 1400 dollars whatever it was disolved anything steel, sender, pick up unit) after that I lock everything, tool box, hitch, lights, doors, gas tank, hood, everything = ) Not sure what I could chain the truck to, cause it would just tear it down

I have the crome body side moldings, thought it would look good combined with the polished fuel door, not drawing attention to it.coobie

coobie,
I originaly ordered the fuel door from Geno's, and installed it, it did not fit real well and it touched the paint around the edges.
I removed it and ordered the factory unit from the dealer, about 90 bucks, it fits perfect and looks factory.

All I could see in my mind was the vision of a bulls eye on the side of your truck where that shiny door would be. Kinda like a neon sign saying "look at me". This is only my opinion but I think there is a reason that the fuel door should be inconspicuous, kinda like how the car companies treated them back in the good ol' days. Like the '56/57 chevys, hiding behind the tail lights or like my '67 Pontiac which hides behind the rear license plate. And for the price of that fuel door, you could get polished SS covers for your door handles which do look good with that chrome strip at the bottom of your door. And as I don't know what I'm talking about, this is worth less than .02.

i bought mine from the dealer. like Rick said, i think it was around $90.00 but looks great. it is however not polished. it's brushed so it might not be exactly what you are looking for.

Here is a picture of the fuel door

Coobie,

BTW, mine is from a dealer as well. Didn't think there was much difference, guess there is.
However, the install is easy.
