A friend bought an 01.
There is a little speaker in the pillars. How will the speaker affect installing a pillar gauge set? Can a 3 gauge set be installed and if so does the speaker have to be covered?

Auto Meter makes the three gauge pillar with a hole for the tweeter. you simply pull the tweeter out of the stock pillar and it pushes right into the AM pillar. It fits great! Here is a pic of mine on my 99.

Also, some people have had some trouble getting the tweeter to fit properly in the AM pillar. The hole can be just a hair big, making the tweeter not fit snug and rattling around some. If this happens, just use some silicon and it should be snug again.
