pic of body lifts
They don't make one specifically for diesel's but you can use one for a 2500 gas engine. Your gonna have to shorten one or both of the intercooler pipes in order for it to fit. Body lifts are retarded in my opinion. They really serve no purpose. They don't give you anymore suspension flex, no extra ground clearance, they make the frame stick out like a sore thumb, they put extra stress on the mounting bolts and spots of the body due to their longer length. Not to mention this gap you get between the body and frame which looks like dog doo doo. Do yourself a favor and just build up your suspension. Way better solution IMO. It might cost more but oh well. You'll be able to fit bigger tires that way and be able to use the extra clearance more.
I just got done putting a body lift on mine. I like it, Got more room for bigger tires. Its not like the ol chevy 1500's from 1991 till when ever, that every one and there brother that has one with a body lift and you can see right between the bed and frame!! Dodge's have a lot bigger inner fenders. I had to do some mods on intercooler and rad shroud, but nothing big.
Just put one on my 2001, and to all the hype about being able to see the frame and blah blah blah.........nope you can barely tell at that it's on there. I got the rear fender liners that came stock on the truck, so therefore no gap there. I am extremely pleased with the way that it turned out and I don't regret it one bit.
As far as not getting anymore flex out of it, I don't care!! I don't wheel my truck at all, it's just meant to look big and cool and that's it. Why spend thousands of dollars to get the same height in suspension and end up with some NASTY driveline angles.........in my opinion that's retarded.
I'll get some pics of mine up hopefully tomorrow!!! I really like mine and it was easier than crap to do. Only thing that had to be done was to cut and 1.5" of the driver side intercooler pipe and modify the fan shroud and that's it. Took me about 4 hours to do it.

I totally agree about not being able to tell that there is a body lift on these trucks. The inner liners are so big that they still overlap with the frame so moving the body up isn't going to look any different. Also, I believe Performance Accesories has a nice lift that comes with gap fillers for between your frame and body so that it keeps the dirt and water out of you engine compartment better. I would much rather have driveline angles as close to stock as possible to keep mileage and power more efficient. How many people driving their trucks mostly on the street need a super flexy suspension anyway. I am going to install a body lift on my 96 as soon as I put all of my front end components on from Thuren.
