Pennsylvania drivers

Anyone here from Pa. worried about emissions testing? It's coming 2007 for all diesels. I was thinking about an exhaust (stacks or 4") but now I'm a little nervous. I'm not going to put $$$ in only to have to put it back to stock later.

Also, is anyone here concerned about the new super-low sulfur diesel coming next spring? Talk about a pain-in-the-*** waiting to happen. Wonder how they're going to keep the lubricity of the fuel?

Oh, the times they are a-changin'

Hadn't heard that. Do you have any more info other than there will be testing? Most diesel emission testing is just a snap test that can be tuned around, I aint skeered! The fuel doesn't worry me, I'm sure the Stanadyne I put in every tank will keep my pump lubed good. Whereabouts in PA are you anyhow?

plus wouldn't if you didn't need testing before, you won't now, even if the new ones do. Grandfathered in like emissions on older cars. We have emissions here but i don't need it for my 63 nova

I heard it from my mechanic. Then looked it up on the DEP / EPA website and confirmed it. February 2007. Regardless, they are still making us pay $30 for an exempt sticker. So the state's getting their money either way.

Dude, youve got the Big-P pump! Its lubed by oil. Its us rotary pump guys that should be worried about the lube properites!! I'm running Lucas in every tank for that very reason.

Got a link for that? I'd like to get whatever details I can on this. If it's just a snap test, it's relatively easy to tune around, then go back to a performance setting after the test. Palmyra, huh? Ever run across Jetpilot (Doug) out there? Great guy, awesome truck.

Check out www.epa.gov for all the new "rules" concerning diesel. As far as the time frame for emissions testing it's on the PennDOT website.

It seems they want the big rigs retrofitted to handle the new fuel and emmisions. It's not like our economy is already in the *******, let's drive it further into the ground.

Anyway, check out the sites it'll make you a little queasy!

Anyone know Jetpilots name? What's his truck look like?

The only new stuff I could find pertained to off-road (construction, mining, ag equipment, etc.) I can't find anything on PA's website about diesel emissions (other than an explanation of why we don't get tested ), just changes in the testing procedure for gassers. Can you link to the page you found? The fuel isn't a big issue except that I'm sure it will cost even more at the pump. The problems with the first round of sulfur removal were related to how the sulfur was removed, not the absence of sulfur.

Jetpilot's name is Doug, his race truck is a black 2500 4x4 with mitre cut stacks. You may see the big black cloud before you see the truck.
