pdr 40

I took everyones advice here and got a bigger turbo. How is the spool up on the pdr hx 40 going to compare to my 35/40 hybrid with my auto? Hopefully I can get the 40 and the scotty 2 on soon and find out for myself. But for now just thought I would see what you all think.

Thanks, Mooseman

Whats your elevation. It will be a bit laggier but after a while you wont even notice. Plus the added top end more than makes up for it.

Spool up isnt bad. I drove around with a pdr 40 w/auto for about 2 years.

Our elevation is around 4500 feet I think. Now if the turbo and the scotty will hurry and get here Ill be all smiles. Oh, and Ill be done bombing.

The hybrid is in great shape. It just dont move enough air for my truck. The guy I bought from had the same mods I do and it worked great for his egts. I guess all cummins run a little different. Im going to hold on to it for a while just incase I dont like the 40.

40 will only flow 10% more than your hybrid. I don't think you are gonna like the 40 at that elevation.

What will I not like about the 40. Is there slower spool up at my elevation?

I live at 4700' elevation. My 01 had a DTT89% torque converter with Mach 3 injectors and a drag comp. You notice the lag, its hard to get the turbo to spool without putting out a cloud of smoke (box off) if you play with the comps smoke settings you can get it to spool pretty quick without that much smoke however you will know you're runnin a bigger turbo. There was a noticeable difference in spool time between 900' in portland oregon and up to where I live.
