Painted Vent Visors

Anyone have pics of vent visors painted to match the truck? Also does anyone know where to get quad cab vent visors for the quad cab doors?

That would be a sweet idea, I got a spray can of color matched paint from duplicolor to touch up the bottom of my doors, I bet that would be a cheap way to spray them, except they are a pain to get off...

Yea, I was thinking about leaving them on and taping off and covering up the truck. Not a big deal, just more time consuming.

Looks good, did you end up using the duplicolor paint? I have a can to match my truck and I have been wanting vent visors for mine and would like to have them painted. What did you do to prep the visors before painting?

Wink

Get your Vent visors prepped by sanding them with a light grit sand paper just enough to show scaring. Clean and let air dry, then run some denatured alcohol over them to get all oil from your finger prints off. Advance Auto has a primer coating made just for plastics by Dem-cote. This base needs to be sprayed on and right before it completetly dries apply your first coat of color match paint. Remember to apply very light coats of paint and let dry. Have the truck marked prior so that when the paint has fully cured (about a day) you can apply with no hesitation and flexing of the visors. This will put cracks in the paint that will lead to peeling.

I went and got a can of paint mixed to match my paint code. Prep was like said above, I hit it with some sand paper and cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol. I didn't prime them though, just painted a lot of coats. Used almost the hole can on the two of them. Then I hit it with some "cut in clear" spray paint. Obviously I'm not a paint man, but they did turn out really nice, and match good. They look better than my wiper cowl, but I know I didn't put much clear on that when I painted it a couple years ago. Might re-do it.
