P7100, to have my 175 built or buy a 215?
For about $1000 I can have my current pump sent to a pump shop rebuilt and maxed out, they say it should be able to flow about 500cc after, and that is maxed they say for the little guy. Or should I try and find a 215? most of the time I see used ones for $1200 or so, the $500 deals are rare and always seem to happen to somebody else... So what are your opinions? Am I going to be happy with the maxed out 175 or should I try and find the 215 (which will probably cost double in the end)?

Build the 175. Its cheaper, and you don't have the retard notches in the plungers, which is a good thing. 500cc of fuel is lots of fuel for most applications.

Brendan, I agree with what Tate is telling you. Build that 175 and I think you will be very happy with it. FWIW,... the P-7100 pump on my 1996 Dodge CTD is set at almost 500cc's and I can tell you that is ALOT of fuel for a street truck!
On the issue of the "Fluiddamprs" I have one of those on my 1996 and really like it alot. In my opinion I think it smoothed the engine out alot after I had it installed.
Hope that helps you some Sir!

It helps very much! Thanks alot John, I just booked myself into the shop for mid March to get it done! I will probably need to upsize my injectors to really take advantage of it though.

Made a huge difference, but mainly because of the vibrations with the dual disc. Not sure what kind of difference it would make on an auto or a single disc clutch.

The $1000 includes taking it off and putting it back in, taxes... The pump work itself is supposed to be around $600. Why do you say only $400 worth of parts? is there something I'm missing or should ask about?

I would say if you can do the down time have the 175 built to what you want. I have a 175 on the shelf I just pulled off to put a 215 pump on. I didnt really have the down time or I just would have set mine up, but I got lucky and fell on a built 215 for too good of a deal to pass up. In the long run it is more expensive for me as I am looking for more air and a new head gasket. As far as the Fluidamper goes I only have a few miles on mine but it definetley smooths things out and quieted mine down considerably.

I thought you were pulling the pump and sending it to them, thats why I thought $1000 was a lil much.
