P7100 Coversion Kit

I was just wandering if there is a company out there that has come up with a p7100 conversion kit? I have access to a used p7100 pump but i dont have any of the rest of the items needed to do the conversion. I currently have a FASS system and Edge Drag Comp computer so i know i will be selling them to offset the price a little on the conversion. I planning on doing this conversion so i can run SVO on the cummins engine instead of getting rid of the truck for soemthing that can take SVO. I currently run biodiesel on the VP44 pump and it has given me no problems so i will be selling it aswell... so if anyone can point me in the general direction of parts list, guides, and kits

Scheid Deisel

Scheid has a kit listed under the 24V section. I don't know what is included.

hmmm... interesting so there is actually a kit out there for the conversion already. Its priced at 1,555.00 which isnt to bad when you compare it to the price of replacing a vp44 pump. I wander what it all comes with and all and how difficult it will be to install. I am not sure on the HP rating on the p7100 pump i have that i got from a local junk yard. But i am really wanting to get the info to do this conversion hopely in the near future cause it will pay for it self in no time since i travel a lot in the truck and i run biodiesel now in the truck costing me 73 cents per gallon to make but the SVO comes out to around 8-13 cents a gallon filtered in a 5 stage system i came up with. Plus with me driving 500-1000 miles a week it will pay for itself in no time at all.

If you know anything else like list of the stuff needed to do the conversion and all and some guide pages of someone else who has done the conversion and made a write up on the whole ordeal. much help will be appreciated.

first thing you gotta do is send the pump to a good pump shop and have them check it out and time it before you put it on, then when you get it back set aside a weekend to do it. It shouldn't take that long but it is always nice to have extra time available to put some cold ones back after you finish Check the other thread for what you will need, its alot of reading but there is alot of good info

I have called Scheids about their conversion, as I am looking at doing it also. I was told the kit includes every thing you need to hook the pump up to the motor. new timing cover, high pressure fuel lines, throttle cable, mounting bolts, brakets, and I think a few other things. I was told that I can use my stock 24 valve injectors with out having to change the pop pressures. they also told me that the pump likes bigger injectors over the stock ones. oh, I asked what it would take to k\get to 500hp. He said the pump needs to flow abot 400cc depending on the size of injector you go with. the only thing is you are on your own to keep the electronics hooked up to keep your tach and speedo. That link posted by Jason, the guy who did the conversion in that post knows how to do all of this. keep us updated.

Cant help you out to much but one of the big companies sells the conversion fuel lines for around $450. I believe it was schieds or halsey. You can still buy the 12 valve throttle kit from dodge that they used for the throttle cable recall. I just had the recall done on my 12V a few weeks ago.
I think that with a little shopping around that you could feasably convert your truck for under half of what they are asking for the conversion kit. Places like junkyards and Ebay can score things like timing covers very reasonably.

i was just wandering with the kits costing around 1600.00 dollars and the price of a set of lines running 450.00 what is taking up the the rest of the cost besides the timing cover and a bracket or 2?? i was thinking what could really be in the kit that would make the cost that high??? and then i was thinking there are these companys online that hydro bent fuel lines for drag/street racing cars and they dont even go for 450.00 so why is it so much for 6 short peaces of bent fuel lines.

They probably don't sell that many of them so mass production doesn't figure into the cost. They had to figure out all of the ins and outs of it and match up all the parts, that takes alot of time to do correctly. You could try to bend them yourself but you won't come close to the quality. Then you have to figure out how to support them because you can't just leave them flapping in the breeze.

any 12 valve case should work, you can re-use the cover. The case need to have a place for a cam sensor to go through it, this is done on the one you get with the kit

it needs to be a 94-98 12v timing case.
also included in the kit is the cam lift pump and oil fitting for the back of the pump, gaskets and im sure they probably include the throttle linkage but not sure on that one.

oh and with your 2000 model you dont have to put the cam sensor back in b/c you have the crank sensor as well and your tach will run just fine with just the crank sensor.
