OK - Im a dummy:

Should have suspected adding 140 hp to my 2001 6speed HO Dodge 4x4 would cause other drama (juice w/attitude) example would be my stock clutch slips in race and extreme mode (70k miles). Shoot!

Wish I found this board sooner, you guys are in a league of your own. I Do not pretend to know what the hell you guys are talking about but that's OK for now, as I engage in my crash course.

So I ordered a clutch from South bend, on the way. Installed a intake and exhaust with the juice. Now a friend says I need a bigger fuel pump so my injection pump doesnt get a hernia. WHAT? LOL

Now don't get me wrong, I think this is great stuff and the truck runs awesome, just wish I read the small print. (Other parts needed, LOL)

So, that being said, what fuel pump? What other parts will fail while I am at it.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Fass or Airdog, but make sure to atleast install a fuel pressure gauge. If money is tight....a Holley Blue pusher pump will do just fine. The Holley pumps are $110 @ Advance Auto & fittings, lines are around $40.

The juice mod has a fuel pressure gauge, Im at about ten PSI at idle, I think I have the in tank LP that was just replaced. Thanks for that! I think I read the fass will not work with an in tank LP?

These trucks are notorious for lift pumps dieing so its a now or later kind of deal stock or bombed

I was running a oem carter pump with a vulcan big line kit and it worked fine. Another popular choice is a walbro pump such as this one:

Good post above also

*edit we were typing at the same time =O*

Look at the draw staw 2 from the above link- its what you need to run another pump. Fass sells some too. If you've got an in tank pump then lines and fittings from vulcan performance would help fuel pressure w/o having to buy a new pump.

Yeah any one of the pumps mentioned above will be TONS better than the stock lift pump. I had the Holley blue on mine with bigger lines and it worked great...never once had an issue with it. Plus it was quite a bit cheaper than the FASS. The FASS has it's advantages, but at the time I couldn't afford it.

I am happy with the big line re-lo kit, cant get it any lower than 9., usually at 14 all day long.
