Normal Boost and Safe Daily Driver

I just put my guages on my truck, replaced leaking turbo gasket from failing to retorque bolts on new manifold. My truck came with an Edge EZ 1000 used. It is showing 25 psi boost max now with the leaks fixed. Is this normal for a stock engine?

Trans fluid is a bit dark - have to change it soon and adjust the bands, but I want to up the horsepower more in the fairly near future. I am probably 10000 lbs normal weight - think I'll go weigh it.

Thanks for your comments and help. I was a head mechanic at Dodge in 1969 and 70 but am just getting back into playing with the trucks now. This is my work truck for welding and structural steel work. Specs below.

According to http://www.dodgeram.org/support_pgs/diesel_ix.htm normal boost is 18 on that motor, with the wastegate opening at 19. I'd say the WG has been disabled, or is rusted closed.
Do change the trans fluid, and add a shift kit. Do not adjust the bands unless it's slipping.

Thanks for the info - I don't know what all the previous owner did. It runs pretty well for it's weight - no error codes on the boost-- scales said it is 11220 lbs and that's normal driving weight.

Any opinions on the shift kit? Is the stock converter OK even if I do a shift kit?
