no pLate???

Installing a 3k gsk and #10 plate. It was easy to get in because the break off screw was already gone and nothing was in it's place. Took off the AFC and there was NO PLATE? Prior owner must have taken it off.

I'm adding these upgrades because I don't feel the truck has much guts over stock. What will happen by adding the #10 plate, or should I just leave it off, grind to ZERO????

put the #10 plate in you will like It. But plate changes didn't do a thing for my truck till I did the 3k gsk. then wow! I don't remember what, but I've heard bad things can happen to the pump by running no plate. maybe one The smart guys will chime in on that. You can always grind your #10 plate down to #0 If you want more. If you have a stock tany it will slip with the #10 and the GSK. The GSK is probibly the best mod for the money you can make.

no plate?

I put in the 3k gsk and I have a high perf tranny from Automatic Transmission Design in Germantown Wi. Triple lok TC and high pressure VB, had it in for a couple leaks, one mine, one thiers, but so far so good. So are you saying that the fuel plates don't make much difference till you GSK?

I hope so because my truck didn't really have much oomph before. I thought it was stock. I'm picking up a couple screws in the morning for the plate. it was easy enough to get at it so I'll install the #10 and grind to #0 if I feel I need it. I don't want to do the GSK again though, kinda nerve wracking. I wonder how many people have dropped that retainer nut into the bottom of thier IP.

Any advice on where to slide the #10?? toward front of engine, back??? I didn't have a stocker in thier to mark. I'll have to adjust the governor arm too, right?

We did my GSK through the port on the side. it was much easer than people say. you may not have to do any thing with the gov arm, I didn't. And yes the GSK makes it all work. my truck was a dog even after I put the plate in. But after the gsk install it rev's very quickly bottom to top, it will wind to 3300rpm now verses 2700 before. My Dad concedes that it is faster than his stock duramax. thats a huge improvement from stock. enjoy!

Oh yes put the plate all the way forward as you have the tranny to handle it

EGT's

Plate forward meaning toward the front of the engine correct? THat is where I have it now. Everything is installed and it is quicker, not doggy at all, it doesn't have that throw you back in the seat, light em up reaction though.

Although I haven't been able to hit WOT yet, maybe then it will snap. My Egt's easily climb to 1300-1400 range so I was hesitant to really see what she's got. The kit came w/ a boost control elbow that I did not put in. My truck does not sense boost flow at the AFC rather it looks like the picture in FIGURE #2 from tst. The directions say to skip that step basically. I'm wondering, can I get that elbow out of the turbo and replace w/ the one in the kit?

Will that increase my boost and therefore reduce my EGT'S
