New Walbro
New Walbro
Well, I reduced the life of my IP when the fuel pump would drop below 3psi. (Last year I bought the Vulcan gauge and tested the pressure) I immediately got a new lift pump on it.
Well, a couple weeks ago the IP went belly up. I decided to fix it right. Got the IP replaced, then had a Walbro 392 installed.
Here's the cool part... The shop that installed it did some magic (I was quite pleased):
* Turn the key on - 10psi
* Start engine - 10psi
* Drive easy down the road - 10psi
* Stand on it (WOT) - almost 20psi
* Let off - back to 10psi
As demand goes up, so does the supply of fuel! I'm impressed with their knowledge/solution to fuel delivery!

They probably put a boost pressure regulator on it. I have one but didnt use the boost port i just run staight 17psi. They hook a little boost line up to the regulator and as the engine loads and makes more boost it closes the regulator and makes more fuel psi. That will be a nice set up as it will only have higher psi for short times when the engines loaded instaed of all the time. 10 psi just putting around will still flow enough to keep the vp cool.
