New Walbro Lift Pump Retrofit Kit!!!!

I just put in my order for a complete plug-n-play lift pump replacement system with a Walbro GSL-392 fuel pump. I haven't installed it yet, but i don't see any problems involved.

Here is a pic of the kit

I don't know why we have to do that, I'm not the one trying to sell them, I just found a great product like many other here and wantd to share it. Whats the difference if I had been talking about a new chip or programmer. Anyway, I just wanted to know, cause I'm getting swamped with requests. Heres a pic for those who don't want to take the time to look in my gallery. As soon as it's installed, I'll post how it went, and pics of what it looks like.

Ok guys and gals. Gypsyman just informed me that he has paid his vender dues in full and will have a website up in the next few days with an ad here on DTR. The moderators have also informed me its ok to talk about the tech aspects, just not price and so forth.

So, DTR member Gypsyman is the one I bought the kit from, I don't know all the exact specifics yet, only what info we exchanged during his testing phase. I do know, that he has it set up with a simple bypass valve at CP3 to control pressure, and is set up so all fuel gets filterd on every pass. He supplies enough 3/8 fuel line to run a new return from cp3, LP adapter plate for fuel filter housing, a choice of 2 different pumps (GSL 391, or GSL 392), has a direct plug and play wiring harness that uses the factory connector w/relay, and comes with a steel tubing cutter to modify the existing steel fuel line.

Oh, and one more thing. It is initially available now, only for the 3rd gen '03-.'04.5 non 600 trucks with the cannister mounted LP's. He is currently doing test on the 24v, and 600 series trucks and expects to come out with those shortly.

Heres the flow chart of the 2 pumps

The GSL-391 here is reccomended up to 450hp

This GSL-392 is good rated to 450+hp!!!

Sorry for the confusion...but what is the difference between a non-600 series and 600 series engine that both have the lift pump on the filter housing and why won't the same kit work for both?

As far as I know, somewhere in the 04.5-05 change over(I think when they went to the 610 series) they went to the intank setup. If you have the cannister mounted LP, then this kit will work. It doesn't work for the truck with the factory in-tank LP. Allthough, with some simple mods and ingenuity you could easily make it work for those. It just won't be the simple plug and play though.

Gypsyman emailed me with that info too, when he got the kit together. I am definately considering it vs. FASS. The price is better and I like the Wallbro pump better since it uses the fuel to cool itself.

My question and concerns come back to fuel pressure regulation though. Should a regulator set up like the aeromotive be used (like green04ho's truck)? See pic.

Also, what about the filtration system used on FASS where it takes the air out of the fuel before it is sent to the cp3? Is that really anything to be concerned about?

Just trying to cover all the bases before making a final decision. THX.

I would like to find out if the walbro set-up would work with a modified cp3?

I persnally think the air seperator is BS. As for using the Walbro on a modded CP3, I would go with the 392, cause they need a higher opperating press. around 40psi. If you look at the flow graphs, the Walbro is stll putting out 60GPH which should be plenty to run anything short of a 1000hp sled pulling beast. In fact, Id be willing to bet that at 40psi, the Walbro 392 will outflow even the 150gph fass. But I don't know for sure, cause Fass Ind. can't/won't provide a flow graph for theur pumps.

I will be installing Gypsyman's kit with my modded CP3 sometime in the next 2 weeks. I am pretty sure it will be more than enough pump to supply the needs of the modded CP3. The kit does include an inline adjustable regulator.

There are also detailed installation instructions with pictures to make the job really easy
