Re:new truck question
If it was easy to "turn up the P7100" injection pump, I'd have done mine already. Unless the owner paid good coin, I doubt it. Ask him, "Who turned up the pump"? Second, if the pump was turned up, are there gauges? Adding more fuel without gauges is not being responsible. So, if someone did add more fuel (turned up the pump) and didn't install gauges.... I would be cautious. Figure about 40 hp for the 370 injectors. Also, 12 valve = properly valved 8).
John

Yeah but all you all did was move the fuel calibration plate like most of the rest of us. Isn't there a way to turn it up by volume on a flow bench or am I talking out of my a#! here?

Re:new truck question
Fuel calibration is key. However, if the fuel was properly turned up, you would know it. There are parameters inside the pump that allow more output. These have to be done on the flow bench. How else do you think 600ccs is possible? ;D
You would be wasting your time changing fuel plates. Fuel plates are just a cheap way of "turning the fuel up," which isnt even what you are doing. Unless the pump has been on a bench, it has not been "turned up." Anyone can move a plate forward. [undecided]
