New Truck question

I was looking at a 2001 2500 cummins 5 spd SLT in Texas. I live in Ohio. The truck has 49,988 miles and is 22,864. I was wondering if this truck would be worth it. I have been lurking reading this website and learing a lot, I thank you for your response and any suggestions if you have them, thank you.

jman, I too have been looking for a CTD, and that price for a truck with that few miles on it is right in the ball park. It does depend on the options it has though... if it is a motor and a heater, ( few or no options) then that is high.

Is it a 2wd? If so, think about this: I bought a new HO auto last June for about $3k more than what they're asking for this '01.

Personally, for a little more money you can buy a new Dodge Ram with the Cummins. When I was looking at used Dodge Cummins that seems to be the going rate in Texas for 2001 models, 2002 was about the same price as a '03 if you haggled with the dealer.
So, why don't you private message a note to "Luke S" on this forum about a new Dodge, he's a Dodge dealer in Missouri.

Joel as a comparrison here is what I bought in oct 2003. look at my sig. The bed liner, cover, bug sheild, fender flares and window gaurds were a part of the deal. The truck was fully serviced by the dealer including all fluid changes. I asked for and recieved a waiver from the dealer excluding me from maintanace and other records affecting the warranty prior to my ownership. The tire were nearly new. I paid 21,500.00 I do not think it was an oustanding deal but fair ( considering the i goota have look on my face) I live in michigan so no need to go to texas to pay alot more.
