new trans temp

Heres the deal the local trans shop that built all my BB gaser autos wanted a shot at my 47RE so I let them at it. They did some upgrades to the VB and put in a new low stall billet hub TC
and other stuff(I dont know much about it except how to hurt them ) Anyway what a differance from stock My question is why would this have caused the temp to go up to 190 in stop and go traffic? Before the temp never went over 170 in the same situation. My temp sender is in the outlet line before the heatexchanger. Im not sure if its worth worrying about or not. Has any one else seen a temp increase when not in lockup?
Thanks

Since they changed the tc with a tighter one that is probably the culprit. About all you can do is when in heavy stop and go traffic slide it into neutral. Some add another tranny cooler but with out moving and no airflow across the cooler it may not help much in stop and go traffic.

Just rember that is the temp leaving the trans, the temp is at it's max. and going to the coolers. If you want a cooler trans junk the heat transfer unit on the passenger side and install a large cooler with a fan under the truck. This way you won't be using 190+* water to cool??? the trans. Just removing the transfer unit my running temp in traffic dropped from 190* - 200+* too 170* - 180*. I have since done a complete change of the cooling and am using 3/4" line and now at the point where I was getting temps over 250* I am now at about 185*. That is a major difference.
