New style, Trans temp adapter.
New style, Trans temp adapter.
I was looking through Genos garage and noticed a new trans temp probe adapter that clamps on one of the trans lines it says its very accurate, Has anybody used it or what do you thing about it. I am thinking about it because I like the idea of not opening up any points to cause a problem down the road.
Here is the link

Its kind of expensive, If I dont do that I will just splice in the the rubber line comming from trans air cooler that adapter is only $10.00

Santa Claus just brought be the vulcan T (2nd link), although I've got to get my gauge too. I didn't have too much worry about cutting the rubber lines.
I would think the 1st link could be useable as long as you're not concerned about the exact number, but just a change from the normal, although I'm not sure how long it would take to register a quick temp change if you're heating her up. Remember, something is better than nothing.
I'd rather trust something that is touching fluid, not going through one metal line and transferring through another big hunk of metal.

I welded a bung into my pan because I plow I chewed thruogh 1 tranny before I did it and i've seen my new tranny jump from 160 to 230 in seconds i did weld an extra skid plate to protect it i'm using autometer gauges i've never trusted electrics
