New Radio

Hey everyone,
I guess I got tired of the old stock radio that was in the truck, as well as wanted something that took CD's as well as my MP3 player better than the old cassette. So I went out to a Crappy Tire near me and bought a Pioneer radio for about $110 CAN on sale. I thought it was a pretty good price for the radio. Now all I need is some new speakers(which by the way, what size of speakers would my truck take..6X9 doors?) What do you think?

Thanks

Dinner

I have 6x9's in my doors but you have to be careful, I think some 6x9's sit too deep and will interfere with the window or its linkage.

Your fronts are 6x9 and the rear are 5 1/4. I put Infinities in mine and what a difference!!!...Not real cheap but well worth it.

Put some shallow 6x9s or 61/2'sand us an adapter in the front. 5 1/4s are in the back. I personally run Polk Audio components in front, Polk 5 1/4 in the rear, a JVC head unit, pioneer amps, and a kicker sub.

It sounds great!!

Thanks for the replies guys

XJJoe...I can't even think of anywhere to put amps or a sub in my truck, lol It's crowded with shelves in the back that I use 24/7 and that is the most room I have. But I'm good with just good speakers...most of the time I listen to the engine anyways

I have 2 amps mounted behind the seat to the cab and a cap. mounted in the middle also on the rear of the cab. My sub is a compact 10" kicker and if fits under the rear seat using only 1 side. I removed my tool tray and bought a sears tool bag to hold my crap. This fits on the passager side on top of the factory tire changing tools. The seat still folds up just fine and works as expected when down.

If you sat in my truck, the only thing that would look different is the radio untill I turned it on

MTX Audio makes a box so you can put 2 low profile 10's and an amp under the back seat but i the box is expensive around 300$ i think and good low profile subs are pricey too, and an amp on top of it all. Q-Logic makes a weird box that goes between your front and rear seat but it kinda bulky and ugly.

on another note i got alpine Type-S 6x9"s in my doors and they sound amazing! very happy with them. they only ran about 120.00 too.

be sure to put on speaker savers (which keep them from hiting the high bass notes)for the deck or you will blow the stock rear speakers

Not to steal this topic...but i put in some infinities in the truck. 6x9 in the front and 5 1/4 in the rear. couple weeks after i got them they will cut out. almost like there is a lose wire but I cant figure it out. Ive checked the connections and it only does it when its turned up (moderately nothing that the speakers wont handle) and the odd thing is, when it does this is either the left side or the right side, sometimes both. Any suggestions?
