New Injectors are in.

Hey guys,
I installed the new Jammer 3's. Went right in. (a little over an hour) The truck started up ran a little rough for a few seconds. I ran it for a couple of miles with the Smarty in the stock mode. It ran absolutely great! I was kinda surprised at how well it ran. It didn't feel a whole bunch different then it did with the RV275's and the Smarty on 9. Smoke wasn't bad. I think it smoked the same or just a little more then the 275's with out the Smarty.
Anyway, I was sure things were good so I put the Smarty up to 9 and let her rip. Man the truck really runs well. It comes off the line nice and it fuels real strong right up to red line. I ran it hard up through the gears then I looked at the EGT's!!! 1500, speedo 110, and still pulling hard, real hard. Well that's way to fast for this old truck so I let out of it. I made a few more power runs and all I can say is, NICE is does just what the guys at City Diesel said that it would.
I think I'll run the Smarty on lower setting though she smokes alot when it's up on 9 and ya let the rpms/boost drop.
One question. How much boost should I expect to get out of the little Holset turbo? I'm seeing 38lbs or so with the new injectors. Is that to much?
Thanks guys,
Topper

Yup.. I always recommend the 100Hp range injectors for most.. that want to play.. but still tow... (especially on a stock charger.)
You'll be fine with the 38psi... a little less might be a little more effecient.. Many (my self included.) have been running higher pressures without any problems...

I noticed that the stage 2 nozzles have make more hp below 2000 rpm. Do they respond better to city driving and highway towing?

Question

So do you think if you were to tow with that setup the EGT's would go through the roof???

Let me know I am ready for some nozzles jus have'nt decided yet...

I don't tow alot, but I am looking at a new boat so the option has to be there...

G-Note,
I don't think egt's are going to be any trouble. I went out for a ride and didn't hammer the thing and egt's weren't an issue at all. (I still have the Smarty on 9). My truck is heavy, it has around 2500lbs extra on it all the time. Also I have 35" tall tires and only have 3.55 gears so it's not the best senario for low egt's.But they were fine.I have some pretty steep hills around my house and driving easy the egt's stayed less then 1000. I haven't towed so I can't speak for that.
I bought the whole injector and not just the tips. I have heard to many horror stories about just getting tips.

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to update ya. I drove the truck about 300 miles today. I set the Smarty on 6 and the truck is perfect. It doesn't smoke real bad out of the hole and builds strong steady power once the boost comes up. I did manage to see 1200deg once. (The duramax that tried to show me his tailgate got a good look at mine!!!) The new injetors are great so far and there gettin along with the new Smarty as well.
Thanks guys,
Topper
