New Engine Egt's Too Hot???
Moved my pyro probe pre turbo and now I can hit 1350 dergees in seconds!!!
How can I lower my EGT's besides adding a ew turbo. If I added a turbo (Phat Shaft or BD Twins), how much cooler will my EGT's be???

I just got a Phat Shaft silver bullet with mach 6's and a comp stock turbo i could hit well over 1300 with the comp on level one.Put the silver bullet on i cant get over 1200 on level 5 Wot. Just cruising i cant get over 1000 i run down the bypass at 70 mph at 800, It cools really fast too I want to get a HRVP next see what that does for me!???? And that with my stock air box. I Want to get an AFE see if that helps any
You must be making good power with your truck to peg your pyro with jammer 2. With my twins running 5X5, running BD 130xxx injectors I can pull 1200 deg's pre turbo. BD 155, 5X5, I can peg the pyro and only pull around 50psi. Mach 6ers, 5x5, pegged, 65psi boost. Does your smoke clear up at max boost or you still have smoke? How much power is the jammer 2 rated at? I saw Tates truck run those injectors and a hot rod pump, they where half as smokey as my mach 6ers and worse than the BD injectors. His ride is around the 350 to 375 rwhp area, I'm guessing. Good to hear that your running again.
I was running untill the new head gasket went(4 miles) due to ARP's crazy low torque on their head stud kit. They said to go to 90 foot LBS, should have went to 130 foot LBS... I dislike ARP now!!!

Forget the hrvp- with those mods you should be at 600 already. If anything upgrade the comp to the drag version or buy a smarty.

Your boost and pyro #s are considerably lower than the average due to the cam and head porting done on your engine. I wouldnt doubt the cam lowered your temps 2-300degrees under load.

No problem on the hijack, good chat is what it's all about. I was just curious what the best EGT cool down product will be. Don't want high EGT's because I want to use my hp not ***** foot all the time. I'm sure a few know what it's like...

With Jammer IIIs and a drag comp for fuel
and the stock 35 and 3b/26 twin set I couldnt get it over 1300 towing any thing anywhere as you would simply accelerate to fast to keep my foot in it that long. I guess if you cranked up the box and wanted to tear your pin or hitch off you could get it hotter but on 3x5 there was so much more power than I needed. You wont beleive the extra power you will feel with the support air you need. You could try a water/meth system but I think you know your going to need those twins eventually
Call PDR and ask about one of their sets without the top charger and just use your stock 35 till you need more. It made buying the twins alot eazier for me.
I torqued my ARP's to 120, with the ARP lube. I've retorqued the head a few time but lately I've been slacking at my re-torques. How much smoke you dumping out you pipe? Does its clear after or still haszy? I've been told that meth/water spray works best when you hardly have any smoke at full spool. If your still dumping black smoke at max boost, you need a bigger turbo. You can find a HX-40 around the $1200 mark. Theres a rebuild shop in Great Falls that sells rebuilt HX-40's for less than $1k. BD twins would be over kill for your HP range. I'm supprised you have egt's issues with no comp box? Are you pulling 35 psi of boost? I ran a set of BD 90rwhp and a small HY35 for three years, hiway temps was around 700 deg's F, post turbo. I put down lots of dyno pulls around the 380 to 400 rwhp mark. Have you tried to run different settings on your catcher? I ran the catcher for a bit. It did its thing but messed up my pedal and my shift points. I made less boost running catcher over my comp box. The spool-up was about the same between both. Man did she smoke running the catcher. It seems to advance the injection pump alot at idle. More so than the comp box.
The smoke clears up pretty good at high rpm's. I run both edge comp(wire tap), smarty(even # settings) and a hrvp. Lots of fuel here that's why my builder said to go with bd twins and I can get a set from him for $3000.00 Canadian...
