Displacment is the same for 2007. Still same as the 2006 LBZ. Jan 1st 2007 the new "LMM" is coming out. Basically 98% an LBZ, same hp/tq, just emmissions garbage added to it.

Theyre pretty darn fast stock out of the box. Crew cab/short bed bone-stock LBZ's run low 15's. I saw an extended cab/short bed, bone stock with only a 69hp BullyDog run 14 flat....im interested to see how they do once big tunes come out for them.

They are fast, but you guys are making a little too much hype out of it IMO. I have seen a few LBZ's run, and not any of them I have seen would run anywhere near a low 15. Possibly really high 15's, but not a low 15. I think a new stock automatic Dodge would give one a run for its money myself. They are plenty quick. If you have injectors, a comp, and a smarty; if you know how to drive it, and your clutch will hold, then you shouldnt be easting your words. I know my buddies 98.5 would suck a d-max in, and spit it out with his comp, and 180hp injectors if his clutch would hold . I know me and teddybear were in his 6.0 gasser chevrolet that runs 16.7's, and we outran a brand new one from a stoplight. So yes, they are quick, but the hype of them is starting to sound like that of the Hemi to me.

Smile on your face when you beat your boss' stock Duramax = priceless.
Yes the Duramax's are fast but it's still wrapped in a Chevy, is it really that important to you to be able to beat a Duramax? Besides if you wanted a race truck you bought the wrong tranny.
I agree with you, and to take it one step further.

Why would you be proud to beat the guy if it takes programming and injectors just to beat him? With all due respect, that is the mentality of the guys (boys really) driving around imports. They get all excited to beat a stock 5.0 Mustang, but have a completely modified car. Whats to be proud of there?

Just forget the ego and see what happens with your truck as is against his LBZ, if he wins, great for him, but leave it at that. It's a 2007 truck, if it couldn't outrun a mild modded 8 year old truck then I would be a little disapointed in Detroit.

And the only fair stock comparison would be a common rail dodge vs a d-max because that is the same injection system they run. Plus they have more displacement, and bigger turbo's than we have.

I highly doubt a new auto Ram can come very close of an LBZ, but who cares anyway.

You guys are forgetting something. Put the trucks in the mountains with a decent load. I can tell you that the 2002 in my signature runs dead even with an LBZ pulling the exact same trailer setup on steep long grades, and our 245HP H.O. has nothing more than 65HP Mach 1's and a Con OFE.

The black Dodge is our '02, LBZ next to it, millionare that drives a custom 70 something van conversion POS (don't ask, he's old), and a few SD Fords with both a 7.3 and two 6No's. The Fords were a joke. We were all pulling 6,500lbs 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailers, us and the LBZ basically raced from California to Montana.

Mom?

The other day a girl that looked like to be about 16 hopped down out of a brand new lifted LBZ at the fuel station. I see more and more females driving diesel pickups. No, I'm not being sexist, you can tell the truck doesn't get used.

That annoys me, regardless if it's a male or female owner/driver.

Why does it even matter? If you didnt have to haul stuff with your truck, would you still want to drive a diesel pickup truck? Id say that theres quite a few trucks on this site that have never even been hooked to a trailer. Just because some one dont pull trailers or whatever, doesnt mean that they should trade their cummins in on a new hybrid corolla because theyre not "qualified" to drive a diesel.

If I didn't use my Ram Cummins for it's intended purpose I would own a half ton short bed pickup or a nice car. Why have the truck if I'm not going to use it? Thats silly.

This is America, and you can drive what ever you want and do what you want with it. I would never tell someone they shouldn't own a vehicle. But, I can't help but to say something to myself in an annoyed tone when I see a 16 year old girl get out of her Diesel pickup that she uses to haul her makeup bag.

its not the fact i want to beat him in a race,hes been looking at a diesel pickup for a few months and ive been bugging him to get a new cummins but he insists on a chev so i opened my big mouth and said my 235hp 6 cylinder could beat a chev{didnt mention the mods}but on the other hand if my truck{24k$ +mods,2k$ =26k could out pull or race a near 60k truck i would be pretty proud.{canadian $ prices}

My friend bought one and it is really quiet and the interior is roomy. Great leather seats. I wish him the best.

You know, that's what I have been beating into peoples heads for years. Us Cummins owners are driving around much smaller motors.......period. For gods sake here people, Ford and Chevy had to put higher revving V-8's in there trucks to be able to even contend with our low revving small displacement 6 cylinder motors. To me, that is the end of the arguement. And like was stated before, while trucks may be quicker off the line than ours, put about 12K behind it and climb that nasty grade out of Salt Lake or the other out of Denver.........case closed.
